We are currently seeking a Scientist to join the team


The Scientist is responsible for parts of the day to day execution of one or more of the projects. This can involve projects in early stage target discovery up to late pre-clinical stage.  He/she is able to set and plan according to timelines and budgets and to define milestones and deliverables to monitor project progression. He/she is able to work and thrive in a dynamic environment. He/she will spend most time planning, executing, analysing and reporting on experimental findings. Scientists bring in the basis of biological and technical knowledge and eagerness to learn more.

Responsibilities and abilities

  • Independently plan and execute a research project
  • Perform wet lab experiments
  • Maintain contact with Contract Research Organizations (CRO’s) and monitor their work
  • Process literature to gain expertise in diverse disease-related processes
  • Generate regular reports on project progress
  • Develop novel assays for target discovery and development
  • Quickly absorb and apply existing technologies
  • Troubleshoot and improve techniques to streamline operations
  • Identify novel disease/indication opportunities

Qualifications and experience

  • PhD (or MD) in relevant subject such as Biology, Pharmacy or Chemistry
  • Basic knowledge and expertise in one or several of the following areas: immunology, biochemistry, cell biology, neuro-biology, small molecule screening, assay development, metabolomics/glycomics/lipidomics, or medicinal chemistry
  • Experience in Biotech/Pharma or related commercial environment is an advantage
  • Proven and career appropriate productivity as illustrated by first author publications in top-tiered international journals or patents

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, energy and enthusiasm

  • Attention for detail and high experimental and scientific standards
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to develop a clear work plan and deal with uncertainty
  • Affinity to work in a small start-up
